This study was motivated by the importance of communication skills in students’ educational and personal development. One effort to develop these skills is through muhadharah extracurricular activities, which provide opportunities for students to practice public speaking. Islamic Religious Education teachers also play an important role in guiding, motivating, and supporting students in developing effective and confident communication. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design and was conducted at Madrasah Tsanawiyah An Najihah Babussalam Kebonsari Madiun. The data sources included informants, events, locations, and documents. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that muhadharah extracurricular activities were implemented systematically and supported by the active role of Islamic Religious Education teachers as mentors, motivators, facilitators, and evaluators. However, several obstacles were identified, including students’ lack of self-confidence, low interest, limited speaking abilities, and disciplinary issues. These challenges were addressed through encouragement, regular practice, and personal approaches tailored to students’ needs. The study concludes that muhadharah extracurricular activities, supported by the active involvement of Islamic Religious Education teachers, contribute to the development of students’ communication skills, as reflected in their increased courage, self-confidence, and ability to speak in public.
